Sadie and Hazel!

I don't know what I would do without my two loving companions. They make me laugh and keep me from feeling alone. I love to watch them play and fight for my affection.

I usually have Sadie on my left and Hazel on my right. They sit with me on the couch and in bed in the same positions.

They have a love hate relationship. Thats what makes them so funny. You never know what your going to get. Hazel my cat loves to get my attention by touching my back or behind as I walk by. Sadie love to just jump up and bite my tush. I walk- she jumps and bites.

I hope you enjoy my pets and my stories about them.
With thanks and blessing Donna C. Ledesma

Sibling Rivalry - Sisters From Another Mister

My story is simple.  I have as you a cat named Hazel and a Dog named Sadie.  However; I think I should have named Sadie, (Ginger).  She loves ginger snaps.  Among many crunchy food items.  Hazel is very day to day.  She like her Friskies and her Scooby Snacks.

This morning was very funny.  I was sleeping rather late and I didn't want to be bothered.  It was once those morning when your having a pleasant dream and you just don't want to get up.  Sadie is usually the first to wake me.  But this time it was Hazel nuzzling my cheek and purring.

I woke up and complained. "Leave me alone."  And went right back to sleep.  Then I guess Sadie wanted to try to wake me.  The girls were hungry and they were determined to wake me.  So Sadie jumped on my face and began to lick me.  I was not willing to wake up and I complained. " No Sadie!"  Then I heard a little short meow.  I opened my eyes and saw Hazel attack Sadie.

She literally pounced on her back and slapped her face.  As if to say, "Hey leave her alone."  I laughed so hard that I had no choice but to give up and get out of bed.  I love my animals.  They stay in bed with me as long as they can.  That is until they get hungry or want to go outside on the patio.

They play together and like siblings they fight.  They don't hurt each other or draw blood.  But occasionally  I see Hazel running like a bat out hell.  Or I'll Sadie running like she deathly afraid of Hazel.

"Sadie? Hazel? Come to bed.  It's time to go mimi.  Lets go mimi."

Then we cuddle.  Sadie is always on my right and Hazel is on me left.  The settle down and sleep.  Then we start again in morning.......

I hope you enjoy my short story.
With peace and love

Worlds Laziest Dog

There are many things in life that amuse me; but the most amusing is my dog Sadie.  This morning we were sitting on the couch watching T.V..  Then she crawled up the couch onto top of the edge and laid her head on my shoulder. Then the whimpers started.

Logo 88x31I knew she wanted something.  So of course I said, "What do you want Sadie?"

And she woofed at me.  Then whimpered some more.  I thought for a moment.  I remember she loves her rawhide and her teddy.  So I asked her.  "Sadie, do you want you teddy?"

"Woof."

I understood that to mean yes.  So I said, "Lets go it!"

5% off any size order at dog.comSo I got up from the couch and she walked along side me while wagging her bushy tail.  I said, "There it is Sadie!  Go get it!  Come on."  I urged. She looked at it.  Walked around it and sniffed it, but she didn't pick it up.

She just barked and whimpered and looked at it.  Aye Yi Yi......

"OK, look right here pick it up." I pointed at the teddy.   She sniffed it and then,  "Woof.  "I pointed again to her teddy.

Finally....... She picked up her teddy and wagged her tail.  Then happily walked back along side me to the living room and climbed on the couch and sat next to me.

She just chewed and chewed.  Then she started to climbed behind me again.  Up on top of the couch.

 "Woof."

Then I said, "Now what do you want?"
She jumped down and got a hold of her rawhide.  She sat next to me.
And whimpered.

Vetshop.com Pet Drugs"What Sadie?  Oh OK, but I don't want to have to hold this for you all the time OK!"  I held her rawhide while she chewed....  For awhile.

What can I say.  That's my Sadie!  She will only chew her rawhide if I hold it.  Crazy dog.  But I love her.

Race Track On My Body

One of the most amazing events in my life and quite funny in fact, are the chasing that Hazel and Sadie do from time to time.  Sometime in the early morning hours if my cat Hazel and my Shitzu/Bishon wake up before me they are off to the races!

Train Pet Dog Adoption BookIt always starts with a little squeaky bark and a small meow.  Then they try to slap each other back and forth.  I know this because I am desperately trying to ignore them.  Then the chase begins.  They literally run circles around my stomach and feet.  Over and over again.

In the meantime I'm calmly stating, "Sadie! Hazel! Stop it!"

Next thing you know Hazel decides she is going to run over my face.  Thankfully she is de-clawed. Whew!  Sadie however; is not.  Aye yi yi,,,,,,,,,

That's when, "OK! That's it! Stop it!"

They'll stop look at me like, "What!?  Me? What am I doing?"

They quickly jump to the floor and its on like Donkey Kong!  Have you ever heard that music with a bunch of violins that sound like bees?  That is the music I hear in my head as I watch them chase each other from the bedroom and to the living room.  This goes on for about 10 minutes.

They run to the table; Hazel will jump on a chair and try to slap Sadie as she goes by or tries to jump on the dining chair.  All you see is little swipes from underneath the tablecloth.  Sadie is standing on her hinds legs and nipping at the cloth and swipes.

But they love each other.  They even share the window seal if you can believe that.  As you can see they have the same personality.  I hope to post my pictures on a later date for you to enjoy.  I hope you liked my story.

With puppy love and Kitty love

Funny Things Pets Do

Hugs Comments and Graphics for MySpace, Tagged, Facebook
Comments and Graphics - Layouts - Photobucket

Every morning I have a little ritual with my cat Hazel and my dog Sadie.  My dog will usually be the first to get weary of waiting for me to wake up.  She starts looking under the blanket for my face.  The when she finds me, she will lick my nose or my cheek.  At first I'm resistant and I try fiercely to hide from her.

In the meantime Hazel jumps out of bed like a bat out hell!  She knows that Sadie is the instigator and when she wakes up.  We're both in trouble.  LOL

In this photo Hazel is biting my hand.  She thinks it's play time.  And it's very painful.  But I manage to smile for the camera.

Sadie will finally get me up and out of bed.  I go to the sliding glass door to check on my plants.  And that's also great for Hazel and Sadie.  They love to lounge on the balcony while I  check on my plants and get my things ready for my bath.

But ultimately, Sadie will turn around and start to jump up and nip my behind as I walk.  I walk, she nips and this goes on till I get to the kitchen.  I guess its her inside joke.  I try to swipe her away and I tell her,

Swimwearforme.com"No Sadie.  Stop it!"

But I can't help but laugh at her.

Then I check the bathroom to see if she left any presents and if there were on the newspaper and not on the carpet.  When she does, I reward her.  I grab a bag of bacon strips for dogs.  Then I say,

"Good girl Sadie!  You made good poo poo or good wee wee..."

Kind of like me Tarzan you Jane.  She loves it.

Then she will sit down and wag her tail a billion times till I give her what I call a Scooby Snack.   Even Hazel knows Scooby Snack.  That's all I have to say and they both come running.  Hazel gets special kind of Scooby snack; it's either soft or hard tuna tasting snacks and Sadie get beef or bacon.

Sadie and Hazel have a love hate relationship.  They chase each other around.  And they even share the window seal.  Hazel will sit behind the curtain to watch my neighbors go by.  While Sadie sits in front of the curtain on top of the love seat.  She will turn around and chase after Hazel's shadow behind the curtain.  She'll swipe, then Hazel will swipe.  She bites the curtain, then Hazel bits the curtain too.  It's funny to watch them.

Then we have breakfast.  Sadie will usually wait for me to sneak some food to her and Hazel will patiently stay at the window sill.  Then we relax.  I sit on the love seat with Hazel behind the curtain and Sadie behind my head.  I think Hazels believes she's a cat.

I will say one thing for sure.  Pets love their owners unconditionally.  They get jealous if one another like humans and sometimes they seem to smile.  Sadie will nibble at my hands, arm and feet until I ask her to get her teddy bear.

Once Sadie gets a hold of her teddy bear.  It's WAR!  She growls at it and takes it back and forth.  Running from the living room into the bedroom.  She's one crazy dog.  She even did a 360 off of my shoulder once.  Hazel will chase me to my room and when I open my closet door she will swipe me through the crack of the door.  Then when I shut the door, she turns right around and swipes by behind.

Sometimes, Hazel will even swipe at Sadie behind the table cloth under the table or under the bed.  That's when they love each other.  LOL.   They both know when it's time to go to bed.  All I say is,

"Ok guys, lets go mimi or night night."

If I'm on the computer Sadie will not go to bed until she is on my lap.  And Hazel will sit directly in front of the screen.  I just ignore her and do my best to type while peeping over her body.  They are like children.

I don't know what it is between those two and my behind but its down right funny.  I wrestle with Hazel and Sadie around bedtime.  It just depends on whose more determined to play.

Steve MaddenWhen I leave my apartment Hazel will wait by the window till I return.  Then when she's sees me coming up the stairs she will come out from behind the curtain to give me a little kiss with her nose.  And Sadie, well I feel like I have a two year old.  She howls and barks when I leave.  Then when I open the door,  She dashes out and down the walkway and runs back in, the out.  She's like a piglet.  Very hard to catch.  She is always bobbing and weaving.  I go right.  She goes left.  Aye vey! But once she decides to come back in she jumps up in the air over and over.  Like Mommy's home!

And this my friends is why I love them so much.  I don't know what I would without them.

With peace and love

Living With Two Wonderful Companions

This is Sadie, when she was a puppy.  She was only about six weeks old when my friend George gave her to me.  She has tons of toys and is spoiled rotten by me.

Stock up on food, your greatest dependency and rest easy.
Every morning she wakes me up as soon as I take a deep breath or move and she knows, "Mama's awake!"  Then it's jump all over me and my face.  Trying to lick my face as I cover my face with my blanket or my arms.
Ultimately, I give in and get up......

This is Hazel, when she was a small kitten.  She was given to me by my sister Debra as a companion.  She saved my life.  She was there when I had no electricity and was a great comfort.

She used to wake up in the morning laying on my legs and I would pick my head up and look at her.  She would in turn look at me.  But upside down.   This made me laugh all time.  She was very affectionate and we watched the neighbors bar b q.  And were always on the lookout for her boyfriend the white fluffy cat that sat on the storage behind the house.

Now they are grown and have developed unique characteristics.   We have a little ritual.  Every morning they wake me up at about 6am or 7am.  I get up open the cans of food., give them clean water to drink and I go back bed.  Then they play for a while or wonder around the apartment.

After that Sadie is usually the first to come to my bedside and whimper whimper whimper till I wake up and place her next me on the left.  Then Hazel follows waiting for Sadie to settle down.  Afterward she gently crawls on top of my legs and curls up in a ball.  Then we take another nap...... LOL

5% off any size order at dog.comA few hours later or around 10am we are up and about.  I open the sliding door and let them enjoy the rays of the sun.  I water my plants, and I sit while I enjoy watching the birds and my surroundings.  Hazel starts looking for the gray male cat that walks in between the wooden fence.  Sadie will just sniff around and study her world.  When she wants to be babied.  She woofs at me to pick her up or whimper.

This is Sadie now, or before I cut her hair.  Her face turned white and her paws are like the Budweiser horses.  Kind of fluffy.

In this picture she is begging for me to pick her up. Woofing and whimpering.  She loves to jump and jump like a gazelle.  She looks so beautiful and graceful.  And it seems as though she is always smiling. She woofs and I say quickly, "What." She woofs again.  I say "What."...... Then I pick her up.

This is Hazel now.  In this photo she was looking at a bumble bee flying around the patio.  I thought it was the perfect shot.  She is so beautiful in her own way.  She loves to give me kisses when I get home.  She meows and then I pucker and she nuzzles with her nose..  She is loving and  bi-polar all at the same time.  She only want to be touched when she feels like it.  She strolls around the house at night.  Meowing for about an hour.  And at times its seems like she is saying, "Helllllllooooo."  And I joke back and respond, "Helllllooooo."  Then I laugh because she comes running into my room or the area that I am in at the time.  One of these days I will record her and have a wave file for you to listen.

Currently the two play together and chase each other around.  But they both demand my attention. Saide loves to jump on my chest and just sit there like a parakeet. She nibbles here and there especially my hands and we play with her toys.  Her favorite is a teddy bear.  She also loves to lie down upside down or on her back.

She is one crazy dog!  But I wouldn't have her any other way.  That's what makes her interesting and fun.  She is my baby.  She follows me all over the house and is ever so faithful.

If I leave to check the mail.  She will bark and howl until I return.  Then she'll try to run out the door when I come in.  But when she realized how hot it is and that I am going in.  She turns around and runs back.

Here she is waging war on her teddy bear.  She growls at it.  And shakes it back and forth.  She tosses it all over the apartment; while she pounces on the defenseless teddy.  hahahah.

I love to watch her play with it.  She's so funny   And incredible.  She knows how to sit, stay and no bite, good wee wee, and bad wee wee.  We are still working on come.  Or Come here.  Or Sadie, come her now!  She usually turns a deaf ear.  And pretends not to hear me.  I feel like Me Jane.  You Tarzan...

This is Hazel and her favorite play time position.  She loves to look at her surrounding upside down. She jump from couch to couch when we play chase the mouse or feather.  She also leaps very gracefully.

I discovered that her favorite color is purple.  She is fascinated by it.  There is a soft rubber band that she plays with for hours.  She tosses here and there.  She loves to play with my yarn or when I crotchet.

She usually sits right next to me when I work on my hats or blankets. Like Saide; she is ever so faithful.

1-800-PetMedsCan you see Waldo!  Ha ha..... She is on my left.  Although now a days she is on my right and Sadie is on my left.  They get along as long as I show each one that I love them and give them equal attention.  Which is why I feel like I have children living with me.

As I said before.  They are a great comfort.  And ever so faithful and loving.  They never ask anything except to be loved.

The following is a quote from one of my journals in 2007.

February 27, 2007
" Finding true  love in it's purest form can be as enlightening as eating a box of chocolates or as warm as a close companion."
